Chairman's Vision

During the ceremony, Chairman Wang Chaodong reflected on his formative experiences at the university. He emphasized that Tongji Medical College's educational traditions—particularly its emphasis on integrating basic and clinical medicine across disciplines, together with its rigorous academic culture—laid a solid foundation for his career in the pharmaceutical industry and for the company's current focus on innovative drug research and development.

Chairman Wang expressed his aspiration that, through establishing an Early Clinical Research Center at Tongji Medical College, the donation would support the university's advancement in medicine and pharmaceutical sciences under the new paradigm of medical-engineering integration. He further stated that this initiative would help the company better navigate the “valley of death” in new drug development—the critical transition from preclinical stages to early clinical phases—and leverage artificial intelligence to generate more impactful outcomes, address unmet health challenges, and contribute meaningfully to global medical advancement and drug discovery.
